Trinity College Welcomes the Class of 2023

Trinity is welcoming more than 600 new students, including 582 first-year students in the Class of 2023, 17 transfer students, and nine new Individualized Degree Program (IDP) students. “Our college community is ecstatic to welcome all of our new students and their families,” said Trinity College President Joanne Berger-Sweeney.

Trinity Professor Susan A. Masino Co-Authors Report on ‘Proforestation’

Susan A. Masino, the Vernon Roosa Professor of Applied Science at Trinity College and currently a Charles Bullard Fellow at Harvard Forest, has co-authored a paper that singles out “proforestation” – growing existing natural forests – as key to addressing the accelerating global crises in climate and biodiversity.

Trinity students and alumni deepen their connections to Hartford through the Obama Foundation’s Community Leadership Corps

Several Trinity College students and recent alumni are among the 100 young people from the Hartford area taking part in the Obama Foundation’s Community Leadership Corps (CLC) this summer. Jenna Behan ’19, Kayla Betts ’21, Brian Nance ’16, M’19, and Courtney Roach ’16 have each been working on group projects that address opportunities and challenges in the Hartford community.

Trinity Alumnus Inspires Students to be Innovators and Entrepreneurs

Delivering a message of hard work leading to an innovation that impacts daily life, Eric R. Fossum ’79, H’14 spoke recently with Trinity Summer Research Program students and participants of the Partnership in Innovation and Education (PIE) program. Fossum is the inventor of the image sensor technology that is at the heart of every digital camera.

Trinity Community Meets the $1 Million Trustee Challenge

In June, more than 2,000 members of the Trinity family stepped up to meet the Trustee Challenge, unlocking $1 million to support the college and its mission. Those 2,000 donors were part of the 7,898 alumni, parents, and friends who made a gift to Trinity this past year.
