Many states allow voters to register online, in person, or by mail.

On the U.S. Election Assistance Commission website, use the Need Help? drop down menu to find links to information for your state.  You can also find additional information at vote.org, where you can also register to vote through their online portal.

Make sure you check early!  Some states do not offer online registration, so you have to register in person or by mail.  If your state is one of these (AR, ME, MS, MT, NH, NJ, ND, NC, SD, TX, WY), you will have to print out and mail in a registration form or go to your town clerk’s office in person.
