It is a great honor to serve as president of this historic and important institution of higher learning. For nearly 200 years, Trinity College has embraced the deep inquiry and broad learning that define a liberal arts education. Our identity as an institution both in and of the vibrant, diverse capital city of Hartford provides global perspective and real-world relevance to the education we deliver.

I am inspired every day by the generations of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents whose commitment to Trinity has helped this institution thrive since its founding in 1823 and whose dedication moves us toward an incredibly exciting future.

We are a community of thinkers and doers, driven by our shared love of Trinity and a passion to contribute to the public good. We help students become bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives. I invite you to learn more and see if Trinity is the place for you.

Community Relations

Hartford is our home, and Trinity is an active citizen in the community. Connected directly to the President's Office and woven throughout the fabric of Trinity College, Community Relations works with local, state, and regional partners on a broad range of issues.

Bridging Divides

Through programming and conversations on campus and off, the Bridging Divides program has sought to bring together the Trinity College community in creating an environment that invites dialogue and promotes understanding across differences.

Campaign for Community

Launched by President Joanne Berger-Sweeney in the spring of 2015, the Campaign for Community is a student-led initiative to build the community we wish to be: one characterized by respect, inclusion, and collaborative partnership.
