The Watkinson Library at Trinity College collects, preserves, and makes accessible unique and rare materials in selected subject areas, and promotes the use of these materials by the Trinity community, scholars, and the public. Its goal is to advance scholarship and further the educational, research, and service missions of Trinity College. The Watkinson Library serves as a public research library, the rare book and special collections of Trinity College, and the repository of the College archives. Our vision is to create a welcoming space for all to encounter and interact with the cultural materials we hold, and to facilitate creative and intellectual production based on or inspired by our collections. The Watkinson is located on Level A of the Raether Library and Information Technology Center.
Though their in-person 50th Reunion was postponed, the Class of 1970 is being honored through a digital exhibit created for the Watkinson Library Virtual Museum. The collection showcases the experiences that members of the class went through while at Trinity during a time of change and unrest.
Christina Bleyer, the director of special collections and archives at Trinity College’s Watkinson Library, has been awarded an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Heritage at Rare Book School (RBS) at the University of Virginia.
Winter is the perfect time to curl up and catch up on one’s reading, so we asked members of the Trinity community for recommendations.
‘50 for the Next 50’ Honorees
As part of Women at the Summit, the ongoing commemoration of the 50th anniversary of coeducation at Trinity College, this initiative honors 50 women who will have a lasting impact on Trinity’s next 50 years. The honorees will be celebrated during the spring of 2020, the culminating semester of Women at the Summit.
