The number of students admitted to Trinity College’s Class of 2024 through Early Decision (ED) is up 10 percent from last year’s enrolled class, due to the strength and size of the applicant pool.

Trinity College will launch a graduate certificate program in urban planning in fall 2020. The program will be offered through the master’s program in public policy, in partnership with the Urban Studies Program. Trinity is the first institution in Connecticut to provide an urban planning program, even at the certificate level.
Yisbell Marrero ‘20 has been named as an American Political Science Association (APSA) Minority Fellow. The APSA is a fellowship competition for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds applying to or in the early stages of doctoral programs in political science. Each year, ASPA awards up to 14 funded fellowships in the amount of $4,000.
Social entrepreneur Jeffrey Devereux ’12 and film advocate and Trinity track and field coach John Michael Mason ’12, M’14 were named by Connecticut Magazine as two of the most influential up-and-comers in Connecticut under the age of 40.
Trinity College has named the students who have earned Faculty Honors for the fall 2019 semester.
The documentary film Who Will Write Our History, based on the book by Samuel D. Kassow ’66, Charles H. Northam Professor of History, will have its television debut on January 26, 2020, on the Discovery Channel. Kassow said that the film chronicles “one of the most heroic stories of the Holocaust.”
A paper co-authored by Trinity College Professor of Biology Kent Dunlap and research students Josh Corbo ’19 and Margarita Vergara ’19 has been published in one of the world’s oldest scientific journals. Trinity students have the opportunity to begin research work early in their undergraduate careers and build strong connections with faculty members.
The classroom extended far beyond campus for students who took part in Trinity College’s Community Learning experiences during the fall 2019 semester. Trinity College students in the “Mathematics and Redistricting” course are learning about the mathematics and laws surrounding gerrymandering (manipulating elections by redrawing district boundaries to favor one party) and their impact on political district maps in national and state elections.
