From this point on, the New Students Website will be your main source of information, so save this page to your bookmark bar! Here, you will find your Starting Out task checklist, information about course selection, New Student Orientation, and much more.
In the first week of May, you will receive an email with your new Trinity College credentials, your student ID number, and new Trinity College email account. This information will be sent to your personal email account.
Be sure to notify the Admissions Office if you change your personal email address so that we can get in touch with you! Also, feel free to email Leo Schuchert, Associate Director of Academic Experiences, if you have questions about the Starting Out Process.
Using your new credentials, you will be able to access Trinity online services, forms, and required tasks within your New Student Portal by following these instructions:

A full checklist of tasks is located on the Starting Out Website. Take note: the first deadline is as early as May 31!
Your Trinity College email will be our best way to contact you. Check your email, and check it often! Among your first emails in your new inbox will be a Starting Out packet PDF full of helpful information.

During the Starting Out Process, the Center for Academic Advising (CAA) will be your main source of academic advising support. Visit the CAA website to learn more, and read about the Center’s Faculty Advising Fellows. You can also contact advisers in the CAA directly via email. Once you receive your fall schedule, your First-Year Seminar instructor will become your official academic adviser until you declare a major, at which time you will receive a new adviser in your field of study.
Visit the Starting Out website for this summer’s schedule of the CAA’s live academic advising sessions and open office hours, as well as information about the course selection process.
The course selection form will appear in your New Student Portal in mid-June. You will have the opportunity to enter your preferred and alternate courses, as well as your preferred First-Year Seminars.
Don’t rush! Course selection forms are not considered in the order they are received. Changes may not be made once the form has been submitted, so be sure to take advantage of the advising opportunities and give considerable thought to your selections prior to submitting your form.
The second round of Starting Out Tasks are due by June 30. Be sure to have completed all tasks due by this date, and check back often to make sure you do not miss any new information.
