The event underscores Trinity College’s deep commitment to experiential learning, a cornerstone of our approach to education. By connecting students directly with industry experts and real-world challenges, Trinity ensures that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Events like the CEN Cybernutmeg Conference give students a firsthand look at the complex and rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape, helping them translate academic concepts into practical, impactful skills.

This year, Trinity College employees Ruben Sosa and John Lee accompanied students Hamim Mahdie ’26, Biruktayit Habtegiorgis ’27, and Maya Carnes ’26 to the conference. Together, the group represented Trinity’s growing interest and engagement in the field of cybersecurity. The students, each bringing unique academic perspectives from computer science to interdisciplinary studies, had the opportunity to participate in workshops, network with professionals, and explore the challenges and innovations shaping today’s digital world.

Through these opportunities, Trinity students not only build technical proficiency but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, core strengths that are essential for thriving in today’s technology-driven world. Collaborating with professionals in the field also allows students to better understand the ethical and societal implications of cybersecurity work, preparing them to lead with integrity and innovation.

Trinity College remains dedicated to preparing students for success while fostering curiosity, adaptability, and leadership. By investing in experiences like Cybernutmeg, the College continues to empower students to become the next generation of cybersecurity professionals who will protect, innovate, and shape the digital future.
