Annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a nationwide program to raise awareness about digital security and the basics of cybersecurity. The program encourages everyone to do their part in creating a safer digital environment for living, learning, and working. Now in its 22nd year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a collaboration between the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA).

Trinity College joins the national campaign with its very own slogan, #SecureTheNest. Our campaign encourages Trinity students, faculty, and staff to implement four simple actions during October to increase online security in their everyday routines.
Take these four actions
1. Recognize and Report Scams:
Scammers use phishing emails and other deceptive tactics to steal information or spread malicious links. Stay alert by learning the warning signs of a scam. If you spot a suspicious message, don’t ignore it—report it right away. By recognizing and reporting scams, you help protect yourself and the entire Trinity community. LEARN MORE
2. Use Strong Passwords Passphrases:
Stronger than traditional passwords, passphrases are longer combinations of words that are both easier to remember and harder for attackers to crack. Learn how to build strong passphrases and use them to better protect your accounts and personal information. LEARN MORE
3. Enhance your Multifactor Authentication, Go Passwordless!:
Strengthen your security by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and exploring passwordless options. MFA adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that even if your credentials are stolen, your accounts stay secure. Learn how to set up MFA, add backup verification methods, and take steps toward going passwordless. LEARN MORE
4. Keep Your Software Up to Date:
Stay protected by keeping your devices and applications current. Regular updates fix security vulnerabilities and defend against the latest threats. Turn on automatic updates to ensure your systems stay secure and run smoothly. LEARN MORE
Protect your data like you protect your GPA—because both are worth the effort.
