As part of this commitment, the College has invested in partnerships with six esteemed cultural institutions in Hartford, providing opportunities for engagement with the arts, history, and public discourse. These partnerships include the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, the Connecticut Science Center, the Stowe Center for Literary Activism, the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, the Connecticut Forum, and Hartford Stage. Through these collaborations, Trinity College fosters a vibrant community of learning and exploration.
Memberships
Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art
Located downtown,the Wadsworth provides a welcoming space for individuals to explore its exceptional art collection. Featuring works ranging from European masterpieces to contemporary art, the museum also showcases special pieces by Van Gogh. As a Trinity community member you can enjoy free admission simply by presenting your Trinity ID.
Connecticut Science Center
The Connecticut Science Center serves as the perfect Family Day or even an outing with friends. There is youth pricing on general admission tickets with Trinity ID, and you get access to 50 general admission tickets. The Science Center provides fun hands-on activities for the entire family.
Stowe Center for Literary Activism
The Stowe Center for Literary Activism is a history museum and a Historical Landmark that is located in the home of Harriet Beecher Stowe. By being affiliated with Trinity as a student or staff, you get access to 4 general admission tickets. Please contact the Office of Community Relations for more details.
Connecticut Museum of Culture and History
The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, formerly the Connecticut Historical Society, is a private, non-profit organization that serves as the official state historical society of Connecticut. With your Trinity ID you get free admission to the galleries, the Waterman Research Center, and a 10% discount in-store and for programs for all students and staff. Lastly, you get a discount on traveling exhibition banners.
A Night Out in Hartford
With numerous opportunities to engage with art and culture, institutional membership also offers exclusive entertainment benefits. By promoting it as “A Night Out in Hartford”, members gain access to both The Connecticut Forum and Hartford Stage, enhancing their cultural experience.
CT Forum
The CT Forum creates a space for individuals to go watch live panel discussions of unscripted conversations among renowned experts and celebrities, and community outreach programs. The benefit includes Mezzanine seats in The Bushnell for every CT Forum event in the season. The Office of Community Relations often partners with college departments to ensure students, faculty and staff, have a chance to experience an event. Hartford Stage
Lastly, one of the newest additions to the memberships is Hartford Stage. With various theater productions to view, this will indefinitely be a night to remember. Trinity’s Institutional Membership gets Access to tickets for shows running each season. These tickets can be accessed through the Office of Community Relations or through the Theatre and Dance Department.
Trinity College’s institutional memberships with Hartford’s cultural and educational organizations provide students, faculty, and staff with enriching experiences beyond the campus. Trinity College hosted an evening with chef José Andrés at the Connecticut Forum. The founder of World Central Kitchen had a heartfelt conversation with Danny Meyer ’80, P’20, H’24, founder of Union Square Hospitality Group and Shake Shack.
Trinity College students recently had the opportunity to hear from experts on world politics at the Connecticut Forum discussion, “Global Affairs: Perspectives on Today’s Changed World and Looking Ahead to 2050.”
Students recently heard Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and historian and best-selling author Heather Cox Richardson engage in a timely conversation called “Reflections on a Complex America.” The dialogue was hosted by the Connecticut Forum, of which Trinity is an education partner.
