Hartford Medical Society Collection Returns to Trinity College’s Watkinson Library

The Hartford Medical Society’s historical collection of books, journals, and artifacts dating back to the 1500s has returned to the Watkinson Library at Trinity College, having previously been housed there from 1893 to 1898. The collection includes more than 30,000 volumes, 100 archival collections, and 550 medical instruments.

Trinity Joins Hartford Community in Celebrations of Central American Independence

Trinity’s Center for Caribbean Studies helped to organize the raising of the flags of Central American countries at the Connecticut State Capitol in Hartford. This was part of the college’s larger efforts to raise awareness of Central American culture, history, and immigrant experiences.

Trinity’s 199th Academic Year Opens with President’s Convocation and Matriculation

“Welcome to the new academic year and, for many of you, to the formal beginning to your life as a member of the Trinity College family,” Trinity President Joanne Berger-Sweeney said to the crowd gathered on the Main Quad on September 1. “Students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, we are all part of the Bantam family.”

Trinity Community Reflects on the Creative Process after CT Forum’s ‘Creative Minds’ Discussion

Members of the Trinity College community recently attended The Connecticut Forum’s “Creative Minds” program, featuring a panel discussion with actor Nick Offerman, musician Jeff Tweedy, and poet Tracy K. Smith. Trinity is an education partner of The Connecticut Forum, which is presented on stage at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Hartford.
