Overview

We are excited to welcome you to campus and the Trinity Community. Students also have an opportunity to participate in a Pre-Orientation program prior to NSO.

The Pre-Orientation Programs will create space for students to explore and connect. Through collaborative partnerships across campus, the Pre-Orientation Programs are rooted in efforts to foster awareness, care, connection, conversations, and experiences as a community.

P.R.I.D.E. Welcome Weekend

The P.R.I.D.E. Welcome Weekend is a three-day program designed to support incoming first-year students from all backgrounds and identities in making a successful transition to Trinity’s academic and social environment. Students will meet with faculty, administrators, and peer leaders and engage in discussions and fun activities, including a walking tour to familiarize them with the city of Hartford.

Summit-to-Success (S2S)

Students who join the Summit-to-Success (S2S) Scholars program will get a jump-start on how the most successful students navigate college. This high-impact, 5-day program (August 29–September 2) will immerse S2S Scholars in intentional self-assessment and life design practices, interactive skills-based workshops, and meaningful engagement with key campus resources. A dynamic and talented team of upper-year mentors will help prepare S2S Scholars to maximize the impact of every early college experience. Together, we’ll help you see how your present self can become your future self by clarifying goals, connecting the dots, and coaching you to develop a personalized plan forward!

QUEST: 8-Day and 5-Day Backpacking & Canoeing

Embark on an unforgettable experience with Quest, Trinity’s premier outdoor leadership program. This year, we’re offering two options—an 8-day and a 5-day backpacking trip, rock climbing combo, and base camping—along the stunning Connecticut section of the Appalachian Trail. In small groups led by experienced student instructors, incoming students will learn essential wilderness and teamwork skills, reflect on their goals for college, and build lasting friendships in a supportive, outdoor environment. The deadline to sign up is August 15!

Invention, Innovation, & Entrepreneurship (IIE)

This 3 -day preorientation program is part of the Tyree Innovation Fellowship. The Tyree Innovation Fellowship is a two-year program for students interested in leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It begins with the IIE Pre-Orientation experience where fellows connect with each other, explore big ideas, and start building skills for life at Trinity and beyond. Join us for a field trip, networking with alumni, and an opportunity to kick start your innovative and entrepreneurial journey at Trinity. Trinity F1RST

The Trinity F1RST Pre-Orientation is open to all incoming first-generation students—the first in their family to complete a four-year degree. This high-value, interactive, skills-based program (August 29–September 2) is designed to ensure that students transition smoothly to college and learn how to be successful, quickly. Together, we’ll cultivate the high-impact practices that yield first-year achievement in academic, social, and co-curricular experiences!

The Elizabeth Elting Foundation Venture Conference

The Elizabeth Elting Foundation Venture Conference is a three-day leadership experience centered on advancing women in leadership. Open to all students, the conference offers opportunities to connect with future classmates through team-building, strengths assessments, and leadership development sessions.
