Cricut
What is a Cricut?
Our Cricut is not an insect, but is a smart cutting machine. It is basically a fancy X-acto knife that is very user friendly and a great intro to the basics of smart cutting machines and vector design. You design something with the machine’s software and the machine will cut it out. We have a Cricut Maker, which can be used to cut a variety of materials, but specifically, vinyl, t-shirt transfers, and paper work best. Our machine also has a print-then-cut option which lets you print an image on vinyl and then cut out the printed image. You can cut letters for signs and labels, make custom stickers, cards, or paper flowers. The Cricut requires specific supplies and we are happy to let you do a sample project and use our machine, but ask that you provide your own material for larger projects. The Cricut uses software called Cricut Design Space that is free and downloadable. See below for a get-started guide.
This tool requires assistance from a staff member and is only available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
