Successful “Onigiri Action” Event
Held Friday, October 31 | 11:00 AM–1:15 PM | Seabury S-108
The Japanese section once again brought the community together for the annual “Onigiri Action” event, celebrating both culture and compassion. Participants gathered in Seabury S-108 to make and enjoy onigiri (rice balls) while supporting a global cause.
The event is part of Table for Two’s Onigiri Action campaign (https://usa.tablefor2.org/onigiri-action), which turns the simple act of sharing a photo into real support for children in need. Each onigiri photo shared helps provide school meals to kids around the world.Students, faculty, and staff joined in to shape rice balls, share laughter, and learn about the importance of mindful giving. The room was filled with energy, delicious aromas, and a shared sense of purpose.
A special thank you to everyone who attended, lent rice cookers, and helped prepare ingredients. Your participation made this meaningful event a success once again.
We look forward to continuing this tradition next year—combining community, culture, and care, one rice ball at a time.
