Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

This week is Transgender Awareness Week, a time during which we uplift the voices and experiences of those in our community who identify as transgender and encourage others to join them as allies. The week will feature on-campus events and resources to promote awareness and to help raise the visibility of and increase support for the transgender community.

As we have done in the past, we will display the transgender flag on the college’s main flagpole in recognition of the transgender community. It also is important to remind everyone of campus resources available for students, including the Queer Resource Center, which serves as the hub for LGBTQ+ life on campus.

Core to our mission as a college community is celebrating diversity and reaffirming our commitment to respecting and supporting one another. For more information on how to participate in Transgender Awareness Week, I encourage you to visit the campus calendar.

Sincerely,

Joanne Berger-Sweeney
President and Trinity College Professor of Neuroscience
