Best Wishes for a Great Summer!

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
As finals wind down and we begin preparations for Commencement, I wanted to send a brief note of thanks and congratulations for another extraordinary year together at Trinity.
It has been a year of evolution and planning—setting our course for the college’s Bicentennial and beyond with our new strategic plan, Summit—and a year of working to strengthen our campus community and connect directly and meaningfully to the world around us.
Certainly, we have faced challenges this year, individually and collectively, and we have shared successes as well, all too numerous to name here. I will note that the work we’ve done together recently to achieve a balanced budget for next year and take significant steps to achieve long-term financial sustainability will help mean the difference between a Trinity that struggles and a Trinity that thrives in the future. I am deeply grateful for the support of our community in taking up this challenge.
I’m also pleased to share a quick update about the Summit Fellows I announced recently. We received eight proposals for fellows, and we will fund three for the coming year, each of which addresses the goals in Summit. As I mentioned in an earlier letter, we hope to fill these roles with outstanding recent graduates, so if you’re a graduating student in search of a great position, we have three to offer, beginning July 1: a Summit Fellow for data analysis, one for international student support, and one for communications and young alumni engagement. Watch for more information and postings for these positions in the coming days!
To everyone, let me extend my best wishes for a happy, healthy, and restorative summer, whether it’s spent here on campus or anywhere else in the world. Congratulations to our graduating students—we will celebrate soon!
