Dear Trinity College Community Members,

We invite you to participate in Trinity’s Task Force on Campus Climate, which will launch in August 2020. This task force, only the third that the president has launched since 2014, will focus on identifying and supporting actions that will ameliorate the historical and systemic factors that impede all members of the Trinity community from experiencing the campus as a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning, working, and living environment.

Racial climate will be the first focus of the task force in fall 2020. We will utilize the campus climate survey results and feedback from our community to determine the other issues that will be addressed during the 18 months of the task force’s work.

As a first step to addressing the racial climate on campus, we requested action plans from various leadership groups at Trinity. The task force will use those action plans as a starting point for assembling an institution-wide racial climate action plan. The task force also will review interim and annual reports of progress and provide regular updates to the Trinity community. The ultimate goal of the task force is to provide sustained attention to our campus climate and to develop outcomes and metrics by which we may hold ourselves accountable.

If you are interested in being a part of the task force, please complete this form. Please join us in creating the Trinity that we wish to be.

Sincerely,

Joanne Berger-Sweeney
President and Trinity College Professor of Neuroscience

Anita Davis
Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
