Dear Staff and Faculty Members,

As was announced at the start of the semester, we will launch a search for a new director of human resources to fill the position that had been occupied since 2007 by Beth Iacampo. This is a critically important role for all Trinity College employees, and as we embark upon this search, I have made the decision that the new director and the Human Resources operation should report jointly to Anita Davis, vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and Dan Hitchell, vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Anita’s arrival this semester provides us with the opportunity to more deeply connect our efforts to attract and retain top faculty and staff with the work of fostering an inclusive community. Both are goals articulated in Summit, Trinity’s strategic plan.

Anita and Dan will co-chair the search committee for the next director, aided by the search firm Koya Leadership Partners.

If you have an interest in serving on the search committee for the new director, please contact Anita or Dan to volunteer. They will choose a small search committee that represents our diverse and vibrant campus. We anticipate the search may take a few months, and we look forward to updating you as it progresses. In the meantime, my thanks go to Budget Director Marcia Phelan Johnson, who continues to provide interim leadership of Human Resources during this transitional period.

Sincerely,

Joanne Berger-Sweeney
President and Trinity College Professor of Neuroscience
