Trinity College students, staff, and faculty members recently attended a Connecticut Forum event called “Climate Crisis” to hear from environmental researchers and policy leaders. Within the past several years, Trinity has implemented a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at improving its environmental impact and decreasing its carbon footprint.
Trinity celebrated National Transgender Awareness Week with a talk by Chris Mosier, the first transgender athlete to make a men’s U.S. National Team (in triathlon), the first transgender athlete in ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue, and the first transgender athlete sponsored by Nike.
Trinity College students in the “Mathematics and Redistricting” course are learning about the mathematics and laws surrounding gerrymandering (manipulating elections by redrawing district boundaries to favor one party) and their impact on political district maps in national and state elections.
Trinity College was the host and lead sponsor of “A Conversation with Spike Lee,” presented by the Connecticut Forum at the Bushnell on November 9. President Joanne Berger-Sweeney welcomed the audience, which included Trinity students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators, many of whom had the chance to meet Lee backstage after the event.

At the 2019 ALL IN Challenge Awards Ceremony held to recognize colleges and universities committed to increasing college student voting rates, Trinity College received a silver seal for achieving a student enrollment and voting rate between 30% and 39%.
As part of Trinity College’s “Women at the Summit” programming celebrating 50 years of coeducation, former Massachusetts governor Jane Swift ’87 returned to campus for a conversation called “Sororities: Then & Now,” focusing on her experiences in Greek life at the college.
The Deans’ Scholars are the 25 full-time, first-year students with the highest grade point averages at the end of their first year at Trinity.
Trinity College is the host of The Connecticut Forum’s special event featuring director Spike Lee. On Saturday, November 9, The CT Forum, in partnership with The Bushnell, will welcome the Academy Award-winning writer, producer, director, actor, and professor for a live, unscripted conversation. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at The Bushnell.
The Fuller Arch is one of the most iconic architectural features of Trinity College. Students pass in front of the arch at Commencement, and classes reunite there for decades to come when they return to campus. Within this iconic feature of the campus is the Wall of Honor, where Trinity College pays tribute to a tradition of philanthropy at the college.
As part of Trinity College’s celebration of 50 years of coeducation, the Women & Gender Resource Action Center (WGRAC) recently hosted a walk through its own “herstory” at Trinity. “WGRAC Then & Now: 1970s to Present” included a reception and a panel discussion about WGRAC’s past, present, and future.
A group of 17 Trinity College students participated in a 10-day multicultural experience last summer as they traveled through Israel and the Palestinian territories. The trip, titled “Fresh Perspectives,” ran from August 5 to 15, 2019, and was made possible by Trinity College Hillel with the support of a private foundation.
