In the spring of 2022, a group of Faculty, Staff, students, Alumni came together to formulate the now approved statement. This was the statement that was brought to the Board of Trustees in 2024 that was then approved for it to become part of of the institution.

The founding members of the Land Acknowledgement Committee guided the development of Trinity College’s Land Acknowledgement Statement and the commitments that accompany it. Their work established a framework for ongoing engagement and accountability, paving the way for the current Land Acknowledgement Steering Committee to carry these commitments forward through action and partnership.
