Over the past two weeks, the Bantams Beginnings: New Student Orientation program welcomed the Class of 2027 and other new students with a variety of opportunities to learn about campus and the community beyond.
Bantam Beginnings is a campus-wide program that involves many departments, along with student leaders who run events and provide support for the newest Bantams.
“Whether it was supporting our student leaders training program leading up to orientation, presenting to students, or being available to provide support and resources, the time and efforts of staff and faculty made an important impact and provided a warm welcome for our newest community members,” said Dean of Student Life Jody T. Goodman.
Student leaders who came back to campus early to support orientation programs for new students included First-Year Mentors, International Student Mentors, Orientation Leaders, Promoting Respect for Inclusive Diversity in Education (P.R.I.D.E.) Leaders, and Resident Advisors (RAs) and Community Advisors (CAs).
Student mentors also helped run the slate of Orientation NEXT Programs: BANTS: Fall Early Returning Athletes; Building Better Bantams; Insights into Hartford: Our Place, Our Home; Invention, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship; Quest: Outdoor Adventure; Summit-to-Success Scholars; and the Elizabeth Elting Foundation Venture Conference for Women’s Leadership.
