Career Connections is our largest on-campus networking event of the year!
Typically held during Parents and Family Weekend, the Career Connections event brings parents, alumni, employers, and students together for conversation about life after Trinity. This is an opportunity for students to connect with professionals in their field of interest to learn about graduate school, interviews, résumés and potential job or internship opportunities.
Thank you to our parent experts who joined us for the most recent networking event at the Cornelia Center!
If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact us at [email protected].
Open to first-year students, Trinity’s Kelter Career Leadership Program offers undergraduate students with the promise to be extraordinary leaders—on campus, in the community, and beyond—with leadership and personal development opportunities.
Through this exciting program, we hope to inspire students and equip them with the tools that will ultimately help them design their way forward in two main areas:
- During their time at Trinity and
- In planning for life after college.
Articles, reading, videos, and case studies will be provided in the meeting before they are due, analyzed, or discussed.
Students will build community as well as develop leadership and design skills, including the following:
- Creative thinking
- Problem solving
- Energy management
- Communication
- Networking
Additionally, in the spring semester of their first year, students will be placed in a 6-week internship with a Hartford-based organization. At the conclusion of the program, students will receive a $1,000 stipend.
The program lead is Maria Dyane, associate director, strategy and student development.
If you’re interested in learning more about the opportunities offered to you through the Kelter Career Leadership Program, please watch this recording of a webinar featuring current Bantams who share their experiences from the program.
Summit to Wall Street is an 8-week summer program coordinated by Career Development staff and is available free of charge to any student interested in a career in finance. It is conducted via the college’s online learning platform with weekly assignments that are done independently by students wherever they are.
The Summit to Wall Street program is best for rising sophomores and juniors during the summer. Rising juniors will flow right into applications and interviews for post-junior year internships at the end of the summer. Rising sophomores can spend the next year networking with alumni and others in the field in order to better their chances at getting a great internship as a rising junior.
Summit to Wall street is a significant time commitment estimating about 8-10 hours per week. The program combines career development strategies (resume, cover letter building, interview prep etc.) and Wall Street Prep courses. Wall Street Prep is a global investment banking training platform, specializing in financial modeling self-study programs as well as instructor-led and e-learning modeling training. Both entities of Summit to Wall Street prepare students for the demands of investment banking, corporate finance and sales and trading positions.
Critical Areas of Learning Include:
- The structure of banking and other financial institutions and the positions Trinity students might consider pursuing
- Requirements including academic, extra-curricular, and beyond
- How to augment Trinity’s liberal arts curriculum with strategic courses in other areas
- The aggressive recruiting timeline which can include interviews as early as fall of sophomore year
This Program Includes:
- Wall Street Prep Online – weekly assignments to develop technical skills including Excel, Accounting, Analyzing Financial Reports, Financial Statement Modeling, and DCF Modeling
- Financial News: guided reading and reflection writing
- Resume review, edit, and approval
- Interview prep including behavioral and technical questions, study guides, online prep with video recording and playback capabilities
- Mock interviews with alumni working on Wall Street
- Early connection to alumni and parent-sponsored interview opportunities
“For a student at a liberal arts college, the investment banking recruitment process can be extremely challenging. Participating in the Summit to Wall Street program helped me get an early understanding of the finance world and provided me with tools to help me excel in every step of the process, from networking to mastering technical knowledge and preparing for interviews.”- Alejandra Pardos ’20, Investment Banking Analyst, Jefferies
Over the summer, incoming international students are asked to fill out a survey of personal and academic interests. We then place them into small groups of other first years, under the careful aegis of a sophomore, junior, or senior international student.
Beyond being orientation advisors (who help you move into your residential communities), mentors will also take you on fun excursions, such as to the pumpkin patch in the fall.
We also have a few get-togethers throughout the semester to chat with each other about topics relevant to international first years and scholars, all while sharing delicious meals, of course.
“As a mentor I met many wonderful first-years. Not only did I try to help my mentees get through their transition, but I also learned a lot from them. One of my mentees is such a mature person, and he gave me some valuable advice on some personal issues. The Squid Squad helps everyone—mentors and mentees both!” – LINZI ZHENG, ’22
Orientation is an important part of an international student’s introduction to life in the United States as well as on Trinity’s campus. Since it is so integral to transitioning successfully, OISS brings international students to campus a couple days prior to new student orientation in order to mitigate the effects of jet lag but also to provide important and useful information that all international students need to know as well as services such as opening bank accounts, getting immunizations not available in one’s home country, and just getting settled in to your space on campus. Orientation is also a great time to get to know the international community around you including current students who serve as mentors and orientation leaders.
For the 2024-2025 Academic Year, all international students will be notified in advance on when they should plan to arrive to campus. We will provide shuttles from JFK on these dates to campus. Please note that these shuttles are only provided for the first arrival to campus.

There are numerous ways employers can connect with Trinity students who are engaging in career exploration or seeking employment opportunities. We invite you to consider hosting an information session or participating in a Career Community event or program.
- Information sessions are a great way to promote your organization and help students learn more about what you do, the type of candidates you look for, and the variety of employment opportunities available at your company. We would be happy to host you on campus for a 30-60-minute session during the academic year.
- Interview days are an effective way to meet students where they are, especially when it is difficult for them to leave campus throughout the day due to class commitments. Should you wish to host a full day of interviews at Trinity, we can provide you with access to an interview room for your meetings, help facilitate the application process, and assist in coordinating the interview schedule.
To get started by requesting an information session and/or interview day, please visit our career development platform, Handshake. If you are not already registered as an employer, please take a few minutes to do so. Once your account is set up, you’ll be able to navigate a few options on the left navigation bar. Click on Interviews → Request Interview Schedule to request an interview day and for information sessions → click on Events → Request Event.
