Ella CampopianoMajor/Minor:
English and American Studies

Why did you choose Trinity?
I wanted a small liberal arts school with small class sizes and to be close to home in Upstate New York! Trinity was additionally very gracious with a financial aid offer that worked for myself and my family.

Favorite Class/Professor:
Walden with Prof. Christopher Hager

Favorite Co-Curricular Activity:
Quest Outdoor Leadership Program, Trinity College Climbing Club, English Honor Society (Sigma Tau Delta)

What do you love most about Trinity?
The English Department is a shining star at Trinity, all of the professors are so willing to meet with students and work with them on what they need. Additionally Quest, the outdoors club, has been life-changing: it has shaped me into a better leader and person and has given me a close network of friends.

What are your goals after you graduate from Trinity?
I plan to go to graduate school within a year or two after graduating to pursue my PhD in English, with hopes of teaching in a college or university setting.

Favorite place on campus and/or in Hartford:
My favorite place on campus is 115 Vernon, the English Building, which also houses the Writing Center. It is a very cosy and welcoming space where I do a lot of my writing and homework, and I love seeing my professors and stopping to chat!

What’s one thing you wish you knew before coming to college?
I wish that I understood how much you can change as a person from the end of high school to senior year. Be open to new experiences, and open to changing your mind and habits, and your experience will be so much more full!
