(one course in each of five categories: the Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Numerical & Symbolic Reasoning, and Social Sciences). At the same time, they have the individual flexibility to experiment, to deepen old interests and develop new ones, and to acquire specialized training in a major field.
At Trinity, students have the chance to fully share in our faculty's knowledge, passion for teaching and love of learning - an approach that affords them invaluable opportunities to learn through example. It's no wonder, then, that Trinity College graduates are better equipped to reflect on their life experiences, challenge assumptions, welcome fresh points of view, think critically, make well-reasoned choices and proceed confidently.
Trinity College has over 200 full-time faculty members. More than 90% hold the highest academic degrees available. The student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1. But statistics alone don't tell the whole story.
What sets Trinity’s faculty apart is the passion for teaching that they bring to both the classroom and campus life. All faculty members teach introductory and advanced courses. All are engaged in their own scholarship. And all share a vision of teaching as conversation - a face-to-face exchange built on mutual trust and respect that links professor and student in the search for knowledge and understanding.
Trinity students soon learn that their professors do more than teach. They challenge. They guide. They inspire. They mentor. They share the vigor, insight and enthusiasm of women and men actively engaged in intellectual inquiry.
