Form 1098T (Tuition Statement) for 2025 tax year will be available to students through their TC online student portal under Self Service on 1/31/26 or sooner.  For students who opt out of electronic delivery, a hard copy will be mailed home by 1/31/26 or sooner.  Not all students receive a 1098T form. International (F1/J1) students can request a 1098T form if their families file a US income tax form for 2025 year. For those required to provide our office with taxpayer identification number, please download Form W9S and return it to the Student Accounts office.

Depending on a student’s income (or parent’s income, for dependent students), whether full or half-time enrolled, if the amount of qualified educational expenses for the year exceed grants and scholarships, the student/parents may be eligible for a federal education tax credit. (For detailed information about claiming education tax credits, refer to IRS Publication 970, page 9).

The dollar amounts reported on the Form 1098-T may assist in completing IRS Form 8863 – the form used for calculating the education tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as part of their tax return.

Trinity College is unable to provide individual tax advice. Please seek the counsel of an informed tax preparer or adviser, with any questions
