The Center for Urban and Global Studies (CUGS) is a research and teaching center that aims to advance urban and global education at Trinity on campus, in Hartford, and across the world.

About the Center

CUGS aims to enhance Trinity’s distinct position and reputation as a leading urban liberal arts college with a wide global reach. Read more about how we're working to achieve that goal.

Academic Programs

CUGS is home to several academic programs, including the urban studies major and minor, the Cities Gateway Program, and the minor in urban China studies. The graduate certificate in urban planning was launched in 2020 and added to the academic offerings of CUGS.

The events hosted by the Center for Urban and Global Studies convene Trinity students, Trinity faculty, and faculty from around the region and world to explore timely urban and global topics.
