We know the numbers matter. But at Trinity, we start with something bigger—your potential.

Last year, we committed $84 million in institutional financial support for our students; we invest in you, so you can invest in your future.

Trinity is a place where ambition meets access, where you’ll be supported not only in getting here but also in thriving once you do. Through a combination of generous merit scholarships and financial assistance that meets full demonstrated need, Trinity makes a world-class education possible for every admitted student.

So, how much is all of this going to cost? Maybe less than you think.

Merit Scholarships That Recognize Achievement, Action, and Presence

Every student brings something extraordinary to our community. Trinity celebrates academic excellence, creativity, leadership, and impact through three levels of merit awards:

Presidential Scholarship—Full tuition award

  • This highest honor is awarded to outstanding incoming students who embody academic excellence and exemplary leadership.
    • Number of anticipated offers for the Class of 2030: 75

Bicentennial Scholarship—Half tuition award

  • This honor recognizes remarkable promise and commitment to making a difference on campus and beyond.
    • Number of anticipated offers for the Class of 2030: 150

1823 Scholarship—Award amounts vary

  • Named for our founding year, this honor celebrates students who enrich Trinity through their diverse talents, perspectives, and achievements.
    • Number of anticipated offers for the Class of 2030: 500

Additionally, Trinity gives and supports a number of regional and affinity specific merit scholarships, including, but not limited to, the Hillel Leadership Scholarship, the Lincoln Award for Illinois residents, and the Roberta B. Willis Scholarship.

Awards and Grant Opportunities:

Award amounts range from $10,000-$30,000

While the FAFSA and CSS Profile help our financial aid counselors build powerfully generous, personalized aid packages for admitted students, they don’t always capture the full reality of a family’s financial situation.

Trinity offers a set of awards and grants designed to recognize the gaps that may exist beyond the numbers. Our review allows us to take a deeper, more holistic look at a family’s financial circumstances to provide additional support where it’s needed most. These awards represent our investment and commitment to you and your family and are renewable for up to four years of your Trinity undergraduate education.

At Trinity, affordability isn’t one-size-fits-all.

We’re committed to meeting students where they are and to ensuring cost isn’t the barrier that stops them from seeing what’s possible.
