Vaccine Verification Process Information for Employees
June 24, 2021
Dear Colleagues,
As we communicated on June 1, 2021 (and reiterated below), Trinity will require all faculty and staff to be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19, by August 2, 2021, when campus operations open at full summer capacity.
In order to confirm vaccination, faculty and staff must submit verification of a completed vaccination series through the health center’s portal. If you are currently fully vaccinated, please submit your verification by July 2, 2021. Those still completing the vaccine process should submit verification no later than July 23, 2021.
To submit your vaccination information please follow these instructions:
- Take a picture of your completed vaccine card so it is ready for upload.
- Visit https://trinity.studenthealthportal.com.
- Sign in with your Trinity credentials.
- Choose “My Forms” in the navigation bar.
- Choose the “Covid 19 Vaccination form”.
- Type in the dates of your vaccines in the row that corresponds with the manufacturer of the vaccine you received.
- Upload a photo of your completed vaccine card by choosing the “upload” box.
Health Center staff will email you if there are any questions related to your documentation.
As reminders, the following guidance was shared in an email to the community on June 1, 2021:
Vaccine Information
Information on how to obtain a vaccine can be found on this link: https://hartfordhealthcare.org/health-wellness/covid-vaccine/locations.
Exemption Process
We are working on a process to request an exemption for medical or religion reasons, and will communicate as soon as the details are confirmed.
COVID-19 Testing at Trinity
Throughout the summer, the Health Center will offer COVID-19 testing to employees on Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vaccinated employees will not need to be tested but those who aren’t will be need to be tested weekly. Appointments are not required.
Masks and Physical-Distancing Protocols
Given evolving guidance and public health science, and knowing that most of our campus community is or soon will be vaccinated, we are lifting the mask-wearing mandate for outdoors, though anyone who feels more comfortable continuing to wear masks should certainly feel free to do so. Indoors, you should continue to wear masks generally, though it is permissible for small groups of fully vaccinated individuals working together in research labs or shared office space to not wear masks if all members of the group feel comfortable and agree to do so. Employees should consult their managers or department heads to set appropriate, agreed-upon practices for your environment.
As for physical distancing: fully vaccinated individuals do not need to practice distancing outdoors. Indoors, the issue is more complicated, especially as CDC guidance evolves. We will continue to watch that guidance and make a decision later this month with regard to indoor distancing requirements for the fall. For now, those working on campus should practice 6-foot distancing indoors. We encourage groups of employees to continue hosting staff meetings and other gatherings remotely (via Zoom or Teams) for now, or to meet outside when possible.
Employees should continue to monitor your health and seek healthcare advice from your primary care provider if you are ill or concerned you may have developed COVID illness.
Thank you,
Michelle
