January 5, 2022

Dear Staff and Faculty,

Over the past several weeks, you have received communications regarding remote work, on-campus testing beginning this month, and the requirement for vaccine boosters. I am writing today with details about each of these items.

Remote Work Extended to January 24

Given the high transmission rate of COVID-19 in our region, we are extending the remote work period for employees to January 24. Please work with your supervisor on plans for remote work. Employees should return to campus on January 24. In order to return to campus, employees will need a negative PCR test from our on-campus testing center. The testing center, located in Ferris Athletic Center, will be open for employees/affiliates on January 19, 20, and 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointment is needed on these days.

Weekly Testing

Beginning the week of January 18, employees and affiliates who work on campus will need to be tested once per week in our on-campus testing center in Ferris Athletic Center. All employees/affiliates should plan to be tested that week, either for your return to in-person work on January 24, or because you are currently working on campus. The testing center will be open for employees/affiliates on January 19, 20, and 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointment is needed on these days.

We anticipate that weekly testing will continue through February. Testing will occur on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the on-campus testing center in Ferris Athletic Center. No appointment is needed.

Vaccine Booster Requirement

As was communicated in December, effective Tuesday, February 1, 2022, all vaccinated students, staff, and faculty must submit proof of a booster shot within 30 days of becoming eligible. To provide proof, please email a copy (scan or photo) of your card showing the type and date that you received to Kate Durante, associate director human resources, at [email protected] with the subject line of Proof of COVID Booster.

The college will host on-campus booster clinics on January 31, February 1, and February 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Terrace Rooms in Mather Hall.  All employees and students who need a booster are welcome.

Employees who wish to request an exemption from the booster may visit the HR SharePoint site for information on the exemption request process.

Please continue to monitor your health and seek healthcare advice from your primary care provider if you are ill or concerned you may have developed COVID illness. If you have a positive COVID test before January 19, please inform Human Resources by sending an email to [email protected].

Sincerely,

Michelle
