In addition to the Class of 2020 Commencement Celebration activities, members of the Class of 2020 and their guests are invited to join the classes originally slated to celebrate their Reunions in 2021 and 2022 as they gather for a joint Reunion Weekend, June 10-11, 2022.

All Reunion Welcome Reception

Kick off your reunion celebration with this welcome event open to all Reunion alumni. Enjoy a cocktail-hour style reception featuring entertainment provided by DJ Scottie, founder of Full Blast Entertainment.

Alumni Row and Beer Tasting

Friends of Trinity Rowing Boathouse, 55 Riverside Drive, East Hartford
Arrive by 4:00 p.m. to participate in the annual alumni row on the Connecticut River with Coach Kevin MacDermott and Coach Peter Graves ’07. Alumni who wish to participate in the alumni row should dress accordingly. A casual reception featuring light food and beer selections from City Stream brewery will also begin at 4:00 p.m., and rowers will join the festivities following their time on the water. All alumni and guests are welcome to attend. Shuttles between the Gates Quad driveway and the boathouse will run on a continuous loop from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Please bring your meal ticket to attend this event.

Wearing academic regalia (caps and gowns), the Class of 2020 will assemble on the Lower Long Walk near Cinestudio for the processional to the Quadrangle.

Class of 2020 Academic Procession Begins

Long Walk
The tradition of stepping on The Luther-Roosevelt Long Walk inscription in front of the Fuller Arch in Northam Towers for the first time on Commencement day continues. Members of the Trinity community, as well as visitors, have generally avoided stepping on the inscription, perhaps instinctively aware that it is connected with some event in the College’s history. The inscription in fact commemorates the visit in June 1918 of former President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt, who delivered an address and received an honorary degree at Commencement.

Commencement is the central and most important event of the Trinity academic year. The College faculty gathers together with the families and friends of the graduating class to celebrate their achievements in a ceremony that has endured for nearly two centuries.
