Trinity College aims to function as a residential college, currently accommodating over 90 percent of its enrolled students in college-owned and operated housing.

The application for 26-27 Off-Campus Housing is now closed.

  • Students may petition to reside off-campus, subject to availability.
  • A total of 150 students who meet eligibility criteria and submit their applications on time will be permitted to live in housing not owned by the College, with preference given to rising seniors.

It is important to note that Trinity College does not assist in arranging off-campus housing for students. Students are responsible for securing their own off-campus accommodations.

Once the application deadline has passed, students will be informed whether they have been granted approval to live off-campus for the upcoming academic year.

Important Reminder: Students are strongly advised not to sign any leases until they have received approval to live off-campus!

Please be advised:

  • Students who resided off-campus in the previous academic year are not automatically granted approval for the following years.
  • All students, including those currently living off-campus, must submit a new application.
  • Members of Greek Houses intending to reside in their organization’s house must also submit an application.
    • Approval for off-campus living is not guaranteed for members of Greek organizations.
  • Students studying abroad in the fall semester and planning to live off-campus in the following spring semester are required to complete an application.
    • There will not be a separate application process for the spring semester.
  • Approvals will be made in lottery number order.
  • The limit of 150 approvals will remain unchanged for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Students who sign leases before receiving approval will not be automatically allowed to live off-campus.
  • A fine of $5,000 will be imposed for living off-campus without approval.
  • First-year, and rising-sophomore students are not eligible to apply for off-campus housing.
  • Being put on the waitlist does not guarantee approval.
