3. Preview Rooms Ahead of Time
Prior to entering the Room Selection Process, you will be able to preview rooms under
the Housing Overview page.
- You may search for specific rooms. Vacant rooms are indicated by an icon of a bed, and rooms that are unavailable to you are indicated by the icon of a bed with a red circle and line over it.
- This also tells you how many people are needed in a group in order to be qualified for this space.
- You can search by building and floors for your rooms through the search on the left side of the page.
- If you find a room that you like, you can click the star icon beside the room to add it to your Favorites.
- It is highly recommended to have at least 10 options in your favorites. Rooms go quickly! Have backup plans in place. This will make the process a lot less stressful when the time comes.
- On the left side of the page, you can also click Only show my favorites so that your page becomes less cluttered and easier to select when the process begins.
3. Entering the Housing Selection Process
- Once you are eligible to enter the Housing Selection Process, you will see a ‘Browse
Rooms‘ button at the top of the Housing Overview page. Click this to begin. - This is where you can set to Only show my favorites, or search buildings and rooms to find the space you want.
- Click the bed icon to select your room. You will not be able to select any unavailable
rooms. So if a room you selected into your favorites earlier is no longer there, it means it is no longer vacant. - A dialog window will appear with details of the selected room. Click the ‘choose this
bed‘ button. - Review the details of your room reservation. Click on ‘Assign me now‘ to confirm your
assignment. If you are living alone, you have completed selecting your housing assignment.- If you have a roommate group, you can also pull them in and “place your roommates nearby” for them to be in your space.
- You then have the option to move roommates into different beds by selecting ‘reassign beds‘. Once you complete assigning beds, you have completed selecting your housing assignment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your housing selection time slot is based on your graduating class year. Priority is given to rising seniors, then rising juniors, followed by rising sophomores. Within each class year, time slots are randomized. Please note there is no ability to change your designated time slot.
The size or composition of your roommate group, or lack of a roommate group, does not impact the time slot you are assigned through the housing selection process, nor does changing roommate groups impact your time slot.
Townhouse selection will occur in the order below:
- Groups with only rising seniors
- Groups with rising seniors and rising juniors
- Groups with rising seniors, rising juniors, and rising sophomores
- Groups with only rising juniors
- Groups with only rising sophomores
Each group MUST select a group leader. The group leader will then invite other students to join the group and the students will need to accept the request in order to join the group.
Please Note: The number of individuals in a roommate group MUST match the number of beds in the townhouse or suite. If your group is one less, or one over, you will not be able to select the townhouse or suite.
When the housing selection process starts, the group leader will login to the eRezLife system to select a townhouse or suite and assign roommates to beds. This is the only person who will be selecting within your group, everyone else will be pulled in.
Note: You can allow the eRezLife system to assign the beds in a unit at random and change the bedroom assignments later, so you can just focus on selecting your townhouse or suite.
No. Once your room assignment has been confirmed, no changes are possible through eRezLife. Be sure it is the room that you want!
The person with the earliest timeslot can be the group leader and will select the housing assignment.
You will not be able to reserve a townhouse or suite unless ALL the bed spaces in the townhouse or suite are filled.
If a roommate request is denied, your group will lose the reservation for the townhouse/suite and your entire group will need to begin the selection process over.
No. Once a pending roommate request is made, the student name is no longer available for selection unless the roommate request is denied.
The composition of your roommate group dictates which suites/townhouses are available to you when browsing and selecting rooms. This includes the number of people in your group, their gender, and their class year. For example, a four person group would not be able to see availabilities in Jarvis suites.
On the day your class selects housing, you will still be able to go into the system to select a housing assignment.
Students who are studying abroad in the following fall semester are NOT eligible to participate in the housing selection process. Our office will reach out to these students to determine housing placements for the following spring semester.
Students studying abroad in the spring semester of the following academic year are eligible to participate in the housing selection process.
An example, a student who is studying abroad in Spring 2026 does need to do the housing selection in Spring 2025.
Students studying abroad during the process, but plan to return for the following fall semester are eligible to participate in the housing selection process and follow the same processes as students currently on campus.
For example, a student who is abroad in Spring 2026 but planning to return to campus for Fall 2026, should participate in the housing selection process.
You can get information about the neighborhoods and individual communities, including the floor plans, here.
