Why did you choose Trinity?
I chose Trinity because, during my search for transfer admissions, I had the opportunity to visit friends who were already attending the college. Although it wasn’t a formal tour, I was able to experience the vibrant community at Trinity firsthand. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive throughout my transfer process and even before that.
Favorite Class/Professor:
My favorite professor so far has been Dr. Rebecca Beebe. She is an amazing professor and mentor who genuinely wants the best for her students. She has helped me learn so much about medical anthropology and has deepened my love for the discipline.
Favorite Co-Curricular Activity:
Working out and staying active; I love running and going on walks. I enjoy listening to music, reading books, and spending time with the people I love.
What do you love most about Trinity?
I love the community at Trinity. I transferred from a college with over 10,000 students, which felt very overwhelming. Here at Trinity, the smaller community makes it easier to connect with other students. I often see friends walking along the Long Walk or in class, and it’s something I cherish. It’s always nice to know someone in the room.
What are your goals after you graduate from Trinity?
Upon graduating from Trinity, I plan to take some time off and find a great job within my major. I also intend to spend time with my family and enjoy the slower pace of life. Graduating from college is a significant milestone, and as a first-generation student in my family, I plan on soaking it all in.
Favorite place on campus and/or in Hartford:
My favorite place in Hartford is a Mexican-American restaurant on Zion Street, just a short walk from Trinity College campus. My friends and I would go there for brunch several times throughout the semester. The food is great, and its proximity to campus made it a frequent spot for us. When family visits, this restaurant is always our go-to place!
What’s one thing you wish you knew before coming to college?
One thing I wish I had understood is the importance of networking. Although people mentioned it before, I didn’t fully grasp how crucial it is to build valuable relationships and connections and how significantly it can impact your personal and professional development. Now, as a senior, I’ve witnessed amazing things happen through networking and can appreciate its true value.
