Trinity College is expanding access to an exceptional liberal arts education for students and families across Connecticut.
Beginning with students enrolling in fall 2027, Trinity’s World Class in Connecticut initiative comprises two grant programs that will provide significant financial support to students from Hartford and the surrounding region.
Centered in Connecticut
Admitted students whose primary residence is in Hartford County or one of five neighboring Connecticut counties will receive a grant covering half of Trinity’s tuition.
Who is eligible?
The grant is available to admitted students whose primary residence is in one of the following Connecticut counties:
- Hartford
- Litchfield
- Middlesex
- New Haven
- New London
- Tolland
Boarding students attending an independent school located in one of these counties may also be eligible.
The Centered in Connecticut grant is available regardless of demonstrated financial need. Students seeking additional need-based aid should complete Trinity’s financial aid application process.
Hometown Hartford
Trinity and Hartford’s shared history span more than two centuries. Through Hometown Hartford, Trinity is deepening its commitment to our home city by making a transformative education more accessible to students from the capital city.
Admitted students from Hartford will receive a Capital City Grant covering the full cost of tuition, room, and board. While fees are not covered by the grant, students seeking additional need-based aid should complete Trinity’s financial aid application process.
Students whose primary residence is Hartford may be eligible whether they attend Hartford Public Schools, a CREC school, an independent school, or another school outside the city.
More Financial Aid May Be Available
Trinity meets 100 percent of every admitted student’s calculated financial need. Students receiving a Centered in Connecticut or Capital City Grant may qualify for additional assistance based on their individual circumstances.
Students who wish to be considered for need-based financial aid must complete Trinity’s financial aid application process.
