Trinity Welcomes CHAS Student of Color Conference to Campus February 23-25

Members of Campus Community Invited to Attend Saturday’s Keynote Address by Ibram X. Kendi

The Trinity College community is pleased to welcome to campus more than 200 representatives of member institutions of CHAS—the Consortium for High Achievement and Success—February 23-25 for the Student of Color Conference, “Reclaiming Our Time: From the Margin to the Center.” CHAS delegations of students and administrators from colleges around the country have a full agenda of conference activities and workshops throughout the weekend. One conference event that is open for members of the Trinity community to join is on Saturday, February 24, 1:00-2:00 p.m., in Mather Hall’s Washington Room: ​Historian, professor, and author Ibram X. Kendi will be the conference’s keynote speaker. Kendi’s book, Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America, won the 2016 National Book Award for nonfiction.
