Puerto Rican Tiple Construction Workshop Held at Trinity

Renowned instrument maker William Cumpiano led a Puerto Rican Tiple Construction Workshop at Trinity College from August 15-20, 2016. One of the goals of the workshop is to revive the small guitar-like instrument, which has almost disappeared, unlike its big brother the Puerto Rican cuatro, which remains highly popular. The 2016 Puerto Rican Tiple Construction Workshop was sponsored and organized by the Trinity College Studio Arts Program, Center Church, The Center for Urban and Global Studies at Trinity College, and The Puerto Rican Cuatro Project. Support Trinity Dream Camp by Voting at Blue State Coffee

Blue State Coffee in downtown Hartford donates 2% of its sales to local non-profit organizations, and has selected Dream Camp at Trinity College as a recipient of its philanthropic program. Dream Camp is a year-round, tuition-free academic and enrichment program for underserved Hartford youth that is in its 18th year on the College’s campus. Each time a customer makes a purchase at Blue State Coffee at 777 Main St., he or she is given a token with which to vote for one of the 4 non-profits supported by the store. The grant Dream Camp will receive is based on these customer votes.
