Connecticut Women in Cybersecurity Annual Event

Thank you to everyone who attended the Connecticut Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Event, hosted by Trinity College in partnership with the Connecticut State Community College system. We were thrilled to welcome students, professionals, educators, and aspiring cybersecurity practitioners from across Connecticut for a day dedicated to learning, mentorship, collaboration, and career development.
This year’s event reflected the growing momentum of women in cybersecurity and reinforced the importance of creating opportunities for education, leadership, and professional growth within the field. Through engaging presentations, career-focused discussions, and networking opportunities, attendees gained valuable insights while building connections with peers and industry professionals.
Celebrating Women in Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity continues to be one of the fastest growing and most impactful fields in technology. Protecting information, systems, and critical services requires diverse perspectives, experiences, and skill sets. Events like this help strengthen the cybersecurity community by encouraging more women to explore, enter, and advance within the profession.
We were inspired by the enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement demonstrated throughout the day and are grateful to everyone who contributed to making the event a success.
Event Highlights
Learning from Industry Leaders
Participants attended sessions led by experts from academia, government, and industry who shared insights on cybersecurity trends, career pathways, technical skills, and professional development.
Exploring Career Opportunities
Attendees learned about the many career paths available within cybersecurity and had the opportunity to receive guidance and resume feedback from professionals, including representatives from Trinity College’s Career & Life Design Center.
Building Professional Connections
The event provided valuable networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with cybersecurity professionals, employers, mentors, and fellow students interested in technology and security.
Food, Swag, and Community
Guests enjoyed complimentary breakfast and lunch, received event swag, including Women in Cybersecurity t-shirts, and earned certificates recognizing their participation.
Looking Ahead
The Connecticut Women in Cybersecurity Event continues to grow each year thanks to the dedication of our attendees, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and planning committee. Together, we are helping create a stronger, more diverse cybersecurity workforce and inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
