Pages and Posts
Pages and Posts are the two primary content types in WordPress. While they are created using the same editor, they serve different purposes on your website.
Pages
Pages are designed for content that remains relatively static and is always accessible from your site’s navigation. Common examples include:
- Home
- About
- Contact
- Portfolio
Posts
Posts are intended for content that is published over time. Common examples include:
- Weekly updates
- News articles
- Blog entries
- Announcements
Posts can also be organized using Categories and Tags, making them useful for content that is updated regularly.

Creating a Page or Post
Creating a Page and creating a Post follow the same workflow.
From the left navigation menu, select Pages or Posts.
Select Add New.
Use the Block Editor to add your content.
You can add a variety of content blocks, including:
- Paragraph text
- Headings
- Images
- Buttons
- Lists
- Columns
- Media
The primary difference between Pages and Posts is not how they are created, but how they are organized and displayed on your website.
