The Office of Spiritual and Religious Life seeks to cultivate a robust interfaith community alongside the vibrant academic life of Trinity College. We curate and share resources and policies that help us do this vital work.
Religious Holidays and Observances
As we continue to enhance our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community for all our students regardless of their background, Trinity College recognizes that cultural diversity extends to a variety of religious and spiritual practices in our community. As members of our campus community will be celebrating their respective upcoming religious holidays this academic year, we can show we care by being aware, respectful, and supportive to all.
Avoiding High-Pressure Religious Groups
Everyone is capable of being persuaded to do something that we did not want to do, and that susceptibility is what mind-control groups use to incrementally take over people’s lives. High-pressure and cult-like activities do not start with something dramatic like the tragedy at Jonestown but with incremental efforts to control people’s thoughts and lives little by little.
Access to Spiritual and Religious Life Spaces
Students active in various SRL groups and communities can request digital access to facilities overseen by our office.
Student Religious Accommodations
Trinity College seeks to foster an inclusive campus community that embraces diversity. As part of this commitment, and consistent with relevant laws and regulations regarding religious beliefs, Trinity encourages faculty and staff to make good faith efforts to provide reasonable religious accommodations to the students who request them. The Office of Spiritual and Religious Life can support students in advocating for their needs.
