Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations, and positivity rates increase across Connecticut, the Governor has announced a return to the statewide protective measures in phase 2 of its reopening plan. Those measures include scaled-back capacities for indoor dining and restricted hours of operation for restaurants and entertainment venues, among other things. This week, Governor Lamont also set a mandatory cap for all private indoor and outdoor social gatherings of 10 people. In addition, the Department of Public Health recommended all residents limit travel outside the home between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Athletic and student organization activities are allowable if organized in a way that groups of less than 10 participants can maintain 6ft social distancing and wear masks. We would like to remind you that per college requirements unsupervised outdoor group gatherings should not be larger than 6 students; and for indoor gatherings in residence hall common rooms and student rooms, groups should not be larger than allowed by the requirements for proper physical distancing.

Keeping in mind these guidelines, the Office of Student Activities Involvement and Leadership (S.A.I.L) has organized some fun activities for this weekend. We invite students to come out to the quad for games and activities take advantage of programming (and good weather!).

Our campus community has been resilient in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 on campus. Together we can make our last two weeks of in-person learning on campus a success. We currently have seven active cases in our community (five isolating at home, two on campus). The alert level remains at green. It is essential that we not let down our guard and that we continue to practice mask wearing, social distancing, and limiting gatherings.

We are proud of our Bantam community and encourage all of us to continue to show care and concern for each other. Thank you

Sincerely,

Joe DiChristina, Vice President for Student Success and Enrollment Management
Jason Rojas, Chief of Staff and Associate Vice President for External Relations
