Connecting to Windows Virtual Desktop from the MAC OS Client

NOTE: This method provides increased performance and reliability over the web version.
  1. Download and install the Windows Remote Desktop App from the App Store. (If you already have the Remote Desktop App installed on your Mac, skip to step 5.)
  2. When the installation is complete, click the Open button, which will launch the Remote Desktop application.
  3. When asked “Help us make your experience better?“, click Not now
  4. When asked “We need to request access to your microphone and camera“, click Continue and then OK twice.
  5. Click on the Workspaces tab and then click Add Workspace
  6. Copy and paste this URL: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery and click Add
  7. Sign in using your [email protected] and your Trinity password
  8. After Remote Desktop finds the associated resources, under General_Labs3, click Lab Desktop
  9. Login again using your Trinity password
  10. To disconnect:
    1. Click on the Start Menu (bottom left)
    2. Click Power Button and then Disconnect

NOTE: This method provides increased performance and reliability over the web version.
  1. Download and install the Windows Virtual Desktop App
  2. When the installation is complete, click the Finish button, which will launch the Remote Desktop application
  3. In the Let’s get started box, click the Subscribe button
  4. Sign in using your [email protected] and your Trinity password
  5. In the Stay signed in to all your apps box, uncheck Allow my organization to manage my device and click OK
  6. After Remote Desktop finds the associated resources, under General_Labs3, click Lab Desktop
  7. Login again using your Trinity password
  8. To disconnect:
    1. Click on the Start Menu (bottom left)
    2. Click the Power Button and then Disconnect

Connecting to Windows Virtual Desktop from a Web Browser

NOTE: The web version, while convenient, may have performance issues. It is suggested you install the client on your computer and use that to connect instead.
  1. Open a private/incognito window on your web browser

  2. Go to wvd.trincoll.edu
  3. Login as [email protected] and your Trinity password
  4. Under General_Labs3, click Lab Desktop
  5. In the Access Local Resources box that appears, click the Allow button
  6. Log in again as [email protected] and your Trinity password
  7. To disconnect:
    1. Click on your Name (top right)
    2. Click Sign Out
