Dear Members of the Staff and Faculty,

In October 2018, President Berger-Sweeney updated the campus community about the search for the new leader of Trinity’s Human Resources Department. We are writing to provide more details about the search process, including a brief timeline.

As President Berger-Sweeney mentioned, Trinity has hired Koya Leadership Partners, an executive search firm with deep experience in the higher education and nonprofit sectors, to help us identify a diverse, qualified pool of candidates for the position of assistant vice president for human resources. We have developed a leadership profile for the position, which is available in the college’s employment portal.

As part of the hiring process, an on-campus search committee will work closely with Koya throughout the entire process. Members of the committee are:

  • Anita Davis, Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (co-chair)
  • Dan Hitchell, Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (co-chair)
  • Caroline Deveau, Director of Digital Communications
  • Brian Flynn, Data Insights Specialist and Project Coordinator and Exempt-Staff Representative
  • Fred Kass, Assistant Vice President for Information Services and Associate CIO
  • Robin Kelly, Administrative Assistant for Chemistry and Non-Exempt Staff Representative
  • Mark Stater, Associate Professor of Economics and Secretary of the Faculty

Our timeline anticipates that we will be able to name an assistant vice president for human resources this summer. The position is being advertised and circulated by Koya among its networks, and we will host candidates on campus in early 2020.

For now, Pat Hardaway is serving as the college’s interim assistant vice president of human resources. In addition to leading the day-to-day operations for human resources, Pat is working closely with individuals and departments across the college to identify a set of priorities and focus areas to help guide the incoming assistant vice president.

We know that this is a critical hire for Trinity’s employees, and it is an important step in our strategic goal of making the college a first-choice destination for faculty, staff, and students. If you have questions about the search process, please be in touch with one of us or any member of the search committee.

Sincerely,

Anita Davis
Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Dan Hitchell
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
