Minor Requirements
Students at Trinity can choose a minor in Literature or Creative Writing.

Literature Minor
- Introduction to Literary Studies (English 260)
- One survey course (English 104, 105, 110, 111, 116, or 117, or HMTS 121 and HMTS 211)
- Broad Traditions of American and British Literature
- One 300/400-level pre-1800 course
- One 300/400–level post-1800 course
- Two electives (at least one elective English course must be at the 300/400-level)
Please Note:
- One advanced course (excluding English 260) must emphasize poetry
- One advanced course must emphasize British literature
- One advanced course must emphasize American literature
Creative Writing Minor
Six courses – three in literature and three in creative writing.
- Introduction to Literary Studies (English 260)
- Two Literature courses.
- One must be pre-1800
- One must be upper-level
- Intro to Creative Writing (English 270)
- Two 300-level creative writing workshops (ENGL 333, 334, 335, 336, 441, THDN 305, or
THDN 393).
Please Note:
- The second workshop requirement may be fulfilled, with instructor permission only, by
enrollment in a 400-level senior workshop.
