We continue to develop new ways to connect with and support our students. In early December, the female faculty of the department (Professors Ahmed, Clark, Bouazza, Halladay, Jogani, and Zannoni) hosted a luncheon for female students who have declared Economics as a major.

The luncheon brought all female majors and department female faculty and staff together to foster a supportive academic community. It was wonderful to see students meet each other as well as some of the newer faculty in the department. Students expressed an interest in future programming dedicated to negotiation techniques, alumni networking opportunities, and even a mentoring program where more senior students support more junior students.

We intend to hold more regular meetings, with at least one a semester.
