Engaging and Connecting to Transform our Community

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Thank you for the incredible participation thus far in our shared employee engagement journey. As a reminder, this work began even before the survey last spring, when so many of you assisted in providing input on the questions and about the current work environment. This has been sustained through our shared governance work with trustees in the fall and the very well-attended Common Hour in December 2019, where the results were shared with the broader community.

We write today to provide details about next steps and ask for your help to keep the momentum going. This website https://www.trincoll.edu/TrinityEngage/ was created specifically for information, reports, and updates about our work on employee engagement.  To focus our efforts and help build a sense of shared goals, we’re creating an umbrella identify for all of this work: Trinity Engage, in keeping with the college’s strategic plan, Summit, and our mission statement.

As discussed in the Common Hour presentation, we are now moving into a phase of collecting additional input to better understand the reasons behind the quantitative scores. We are providing three mechanisms for doing that:

  • Focus groups, February 4-5. We will be sending out emails this week to invite participants (randomly selected) to take part in one of six focus groups. There are also spaces for others to volunteer. Volunteer registration forms can be found below. We recommend signing up right away as space is limited.
  • “Virtual” focus groups, February 4-18. Some of the topics from the survey are more sensitive than others, and we want to provide you with more confidential/anonymous mechanisms to provide input.  Or, you may just want to provide general suggestions/feedback that are not captured by the questions being posed. To meet both of these needs, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback on particular topics via an online form or in physical drop boxes placed around campus (i.e., Peter B’s, the Mather Cave, or the Bistro). Please visit the links below to participate online.
  • Employee Engagement Email. At any time, you are encouraged to provide feedback, ideas, and suggestions to our HR team about employee engagement at: [email protected].

In closing, we look forward to these exciting next steps and thank you in advance for continuing to be a part of Trinity Engage!

Sincerely,

Anita Davis, Dan Hitchell, and your Human Resources Team
