Like movies?  Looking for something to do over winter break? Want to be part of a 50+ year old Hartford arts institution?

Consider volunteering at Cinestudio (www.cinestudio.org), Trinity’s very own 1930s-inspired movie house, located on the south end of the Quad in the Clement Chemistry Building.  Cinestudio shows films 7 day/week, in addition to special screenings, festivals, and events.

Cinestudio was started by students in 1970 and has operated for over 50 years in large part due to committed student and community volunteers who understand what a unique resource we have at Trinity in Cinestudio.

Now it’s your turn to part of the Cinestudio story.  Volunteer opportunities exist for any of the following:

  • Ticket seller: operating the ticket booth, counting money, completing daily box office report, answering questions.  Commitment: 45 minutes before the movie starts though a half hour after it starts (e.g. a 7:00 p.m. movie would be a shift of 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
  • Concessions: Set up and break down concession stand for each screening, sell items, use register, count money, make change, etc. Same time commitment as ticket seller.
  • Theater monitor: Check tickets, answer questions and assist patrons, stay through the film, make sure theater is clear at end and pick up any trash.  Commitment: ½ hour before film starts through the end.

Ticket seller slots are the highest priority but we welcome volunteers for any of the positions.  You just need to commit to a minimum of one consistent shift per week and you will have free admission to all films being shown that week.

If interested in being a part of one of Trinity’s and Hartford’s hidden gems, please contact Joe Barber at [email protected] with position(s) of interest and your preferred days/times.

Thanks and we look forward to having you join us!
