1.0 Credit
MW 1:15-3:15pm
Performance Lab, Trinity Commons 152
Prof. Peter Kyle
In this free-wheeling course where discovery of the unexpected is our aim, we embrace the idea of serious play alongside the specificity of embodiment. If we begin from choreographer Alwin Nikolais’ statement “All creatures, human and otherwise, move. Those who sense motion transpiring through their bodies, dance,” where we end up (in dance) is anyone’s guess! Open to all regardless of experience.

.5 Credit
MW 11:30am-12:45pm
Performance Lab, Trinity Commons 152
Prof. Peter Kyle
In this practice-based course featuring live music, we focus on individual development and clarity of articulation. Explore technical and creative implications of time, space, shape, and motion through the body, supported by our imagination. How does the leg interact with the spine? What does sensing gravity do to the quality of our jump? When might an image or sound impact the way we execute a dynamic sequence or even a moment of stillness? Open to all regardless of experience.
