This course provides an experiential-based introduction to refugee and immigrant studies. Students’ weekly work with community-based organizations will be the basis for bi-weekly seminar discussions engaging literature on immigration policy, social integration, and diaspora studies. Bi-weekly meetings will be organized around student schedules (TBD). Registration requires permission of instructor. Please contact Prof. Janet Bauer for more information and to discuss your interests/experiences to secure a specific community placement as soon as possible. This course may be counted as part of the proposed HRST experiential certificate in immigrant/refugee resettlement studies.
