Facilities Services will be performing maintenance on electrical transformers in several buildings from July 18–25. Each building will be without electricity from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. on the scheduled maintenance day. Read on to see the schedule of affected buildings.

  • Seabury—Monday, July 18
  • Ferris Athletic Center—Tuesday, July 19
  • North Campus Hall—Wednesday, July 20
  • Raether Library—Thursday, July 21
  • Downes and Williams—Friday, July 22
  • Northam Towers—Monday, July 25

During the scheduled outages, no one will be allowed in the buildings for safety reasons. Employees should plan accordingly to work off-site. If there is an emergency need to access the building, please contact Campus Safety at 860-297-2222.

In advance of your building’s scheduled day, please be sure to turn off your computers, printers, and other devices in your offices to avoid any electrical spikes when power is restored. This also means you will not be able to remote into your office desktop from home during this period. Once power is restored, someone will have to physically go to your office to turn your computer back on before you will be able to remote into it again successfully. On the day the Raether Library loses power, on Thursday July 21, a generator will be used to power and cool the server room located in the building. However, there may still be disruptions to locally provided services during the outage (generally services with a trincoll.edu web address).

Because there will be no power in the buildings, please be sure to remove food from refrigerators and freezers.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this important preventative maintenance work. Please be in touch with questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Facilities Services
