Eversource Testing on Vernon Street: March 4-5 – Parking and Noise Impact

Eversource is scheduled to perform test boring and vacuum excavation work on Vernon Street March 4-5. Please read full message.

On March 4 and 5, Eversource is scheduled to perform test boring and vacuum excavation work on Vernon Street near the I-House between the hours of 7:00 am-3:00 pm. The Summit Street (one way portion) near Allen Place will also be closed during this time. The scheduled work is needed to facilitate the design and engineering of the upcoming Hartford Underground Cable Modernization Program.

Campus Operations Impacts:

• The on-street parking in the area of the I-House is needed. A total of 5 spots. Cars must be moved in this area by 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, otherwise the cars will be towed at the owners expense.
• The sidewalk in the area will not be impacted. There should be minimal impact to road as the work will be on the northern edge of the road.
• It may be noisy at times. The construction noise will fall within normal street construction levels
