A group of Trinity College students, faculty, and staff recently heard from experts on artificial intelligence at the Connecticut Forum discussion “Being Human in an Age of AI.” Trinity is an education partner of the Connecticut Forum.

In honor of Earth Month, student organizations and Trinity’s Office of Sustainability have held community events throughout April. The Green Campus club recently partnered with The Mill to host the fifth annual GreenFest, designed to promote sustainability on campus.
Through their persistent efforts, Trinity students have revived the College’s Model United Nations Club after it was dormant for several years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The club’s recent success at conferences can be attributed to the hard work of a determined group of student leaders.
Six Trinity College faculty members were awarded tenure, three were promoted to full professor, and nine retiring faculty members have been granted emeriti status this semester.
Now in its fifth year, the Trinity Technology and Leadership Internship for Women provides students with technology skills and leadership experience. Mia Creane ’25, Vy Sa Nguyen ’26, and Hanna Saffi ’26 are participating in this internship program for the spring 2024 semester.
In celebration of Women’s Herstory Month, Trinity recently welcomed three-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas to speak to the community. “Never limit yourself due to other people’s limits or expectations,” said Douglas, the first Black woman to win the Olympic individual all-around title in gymnastics.
Trinity College’s campus will experience a dusk-like darkness on the afternoon of Monday, April 8, when the moon blocks out most of the sun’s light during a partial solar eclipse. While Hartford will not see a total eclipse, more than 90 percent of the sun will appear covered. “It will still be quite impressive,” said Assistant Professor of Physics Kelly M. Patton.
A team of Trinity College engineering majors has received a Student Project Grant from the NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium (CTSGC). The award supports the group’s development of a device that efficiently transforms wave energy into usable electricity.
