Alumnae Tell Students How English Degrees Prepared Them for Careers

Three Trinity College alumnae recently returned to campus to talk about how their careers were influenced and supported by their experiences as English majors. “English isn’t just a degree people find intellectually rewarding, but something that you can use practically,” said Christopher Hager, Hobart Professor of the Humanities and Professor of English.

Trinity Writer Featured in Connecticut Student Poetry Circuit Readings

Gemma Feltovich ’25 is among five student writers from the state selected for this year’s Connecticut Student Poetry Circuit, which presents readings of work by young poets at local colleges. The first stop on the tour will be at Trinity on Tuesday, February 18.

Warsaw Testament, a memoir based on the wartime writings of Rokhl Auerbach—translated, introduced, and annotated by Samuel D. Kassow ’66, Charles H. Northam Professor of History—has been named a winner of a National Jewish Book Award.

Trinity Conference Observes International Day of Women and Girls in STEM 

Trinity College hosted young students from the Hartford community at an event celebrating the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in STEM, which is observed annually on February 11.  The local students took part in hands-on activities led by Trinity faculty members and Trinity student volunteers.

The Mellon Foundation has awarded Trinity College a Higher Learning grant to support a new project, the “Hartford Environmental Justice Research Partnership,” led by Trinity’s Center for Urban and Global Studies (CUGS), Center for Hartford Engagement and Research (CHER), and Center for Caribbean Studies (CCS).

Trinity College Names New President

Daniel G. Lugo, currently president of Queens University of Charlotte, was named Trinity College’s 23rd president, a role he will assume on July 1, 2025. Lugo will succeed Joanne Berger-Sweeney, who has led the institution for 11 years.
